ZTE Communication outlines global ambitions
LONDON – Chinese manufacturer ZTE Corp. (Shenzhen: 000063 Hong Kong: 0763) has accelerated the March of the network infrastructure and handset markets outside their home market and has set ambitious targets for the three next five years.
At a media event today, Jim Jinghui, CEO of ZTE (UK) Ltd, said that the plans over the next three years, the company among the top three vendors in the market wired and wireless devices.

ZTE said outdated Nortel Networks Ltd. and Motorola Inc. This is not the only difficult task. The manufacturer has clearly his work cut out to promote its sales outside of China. Europe and the United States for only 16.3 per cent of worldwide turnover in 2009, one third of all international sales, while China accounts for just over half of total revenue 50 4 per cent.
Jinghui said the company now maintains relations with 23 of the best in the world 30 operators and 500 operators in 140 countries. But it is clear that cell phones and mobile broadband dongles, instead of network gear, are the areas of initial growth of the company on world markets.
On the market in the United Kingdom, for example, progress on the ZTE-made device sales, and expects to sell about 3 million cell phones and mobile broadband dongles in 2010, twice the volume in the United Kingdom 2009 sale.

In the United Kingdom, the company has targeted 6-8 per cent of the mobile phone market in 2010, a goal facilitated by the launch of eight new handsets this year, two of which are based on the Android platform.
Her Wu, director of operations for mobile ZTE (UK) Ltd, said the emphasis on the combined channel British aircraft carrier this year, estimates are around 17 million ZTE units in total. But he admitted that the vendor needs to focus more on the retail market if it wants to achieve its global market share.
